Baseline Assessment for Southern Africa Tuberculosis Health System Support Project in Lesotho

The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho was allocated funds from the International Development Association and Southern Africa Tuberculosis Health System Support Project to respond to the high TB burden among mineworkers and ex-mineworkers in their country.

Health Focus South Africa supported the Lesotho Ministry of Health to establish comprehensive baseline information on policies and systems related to the management of occupational diseases and the monitoring of health and safety in the domestic mining sector. This information will help guide key interventions ultimately addressing the TB burden related to mine work.
