Consultancy Service to undertake a Baseline Study on Mine Health Regulation and Occupational Health and Safety Service in Southern Africa
As the African continent still grapples with tuberculosis (TB) despite progress registered globally in tackling the disease, the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Agency, Eastern Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) and the World Bank are collaborating in supporting the implementation of the Southern Africa TB and Health Systems Support (SATBHSS) Project.
Health Focus South Africa was contracted by NEPAD to assess the baseline situation of the legal frameworks and management systems for occupational health and safety in Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia, in comparison with international best practice as well as assessing the engineering and management systems in place for dust control and monitoring practices in mines in the 4 countries.
